National HSCP Office: Request from NCP Respiratory for Information regarding COVID Rehabilitation

Susan Curtis, Programme Manager for the National Clinical Programme Respiratory has been in contact to ask that we circulate the email below to all our members.

“We are now at a stage that we are working with CCO office to look at the plans for post COVID rehab across the country and developing services for this. The NCP Respiratory has been asked to assist with this along with other groups. I will have some more info in the coming weeks to share on this. I have had a few emails about post COVID rehab and pulmonary rehab in places so my first task is to try and scope out what is currently happening, what is working, what isn’t working and what in your experience to date is required. I also have the HSE library doing an up dated search on rehab post COVID including “long COVID”.

It is likely I will need help with this from the “frontline experts” as this is a big piece of work. If you could please help me with this first piece of scoping to see what has worked so far and where are gaps are it would be of great benefit to all of us. This involved multiple professions and is not just respiratory I will send out through HSCP office also but please feel free to send onto colleagues of any discipline or working in other areas outside respiratory you feel may be relevant. The more info we have the better we can plan and support new services.

If you can please complete the questions attached and return to me by Thursday 21st January”

regards

Susan
