We are pleased to announce a bursary opportunity to attend the 8th ILAE School on EEG in the First Year of Life – Bursary Opportunity
Funding through the National Health and Social Care Professions Office (NHSCPO) is available for 2 Neurophysiologists to attend 8th ILAE School on EEG in the First Year of Life , Monday, 30th of March 2026 – Thursday, 2nd of April 2026.
This programme is designed to support neurophysiologists in accurately interpreting, reporting, and contributing to the diagnosis of Paediatric EEGs, an area that requires specialised knowledge of neonatal and paediatric brain development and age-specific EEG patterns.
To be considered for funding, please complete the Expression of Interest form HERE – by 5pm on Friday, 27/02/2026.
Attendance at this programme will enable neurophysiologists to develop essential knowledge and skills through teaching delivered by some of Europe’s leading neonatologists, strengthening clinical competence and confidence in this highly specialised area of practice.
Benefits of the course include:
- Recognise and describe ictal patterns
- Recognise and describe background activity and sleep patterns in all age groups
- Recognise and describe interictal abnormalities
- Correctly diagnose and classify combined focal and generalised epilepsies including encephalopathy.
- Recognise the semiology of Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES) and the use of video-EEG and suggestion techniques in diagnosis of PNES.
