The IICMP has approved funding from the HSCP to support Cardiac Physiologists to complete the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) TTE Exam Certification. Funding will support the exam registration fee.

The ESC EACVI Exam Certification programme seeks to set a standard for competency and excellence in the field of adult transthoracic echocardiography across Europe and beyond. It has been meticulously developed to accurately reflect and clearly defined assessment goals and evaluate the necessary knowledge, skills and clinical competencies that are required for adult transthoracic echocardiography practice.

The EACVI Certification programme is designed for all healthcare professionals involved in adult transthoracic echocardiography. 

The programme is set out in two parts:

• The exam – intended to test the theoretical knowledge of the candidate
• The logbook – demonstrating the training, skills and experience of the candidate

ESC EACVI Registration & Examination Dates for 2026

• Exam Date – 24 November 2026
• Registration opens – Registration will open three months prior to exam date.
• Registration closes – TBC
