Chief 1 Cardiac Physiologist – St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny
Currently, there is Cardiac Physiologist, Chief I (Integrated Care) 0.9 WTE (extended)
The successful candidate will work in the Cardiac Investigations Department. St Luke’s General Hospital Kilkenny and Community Hub.
The successful candidate will be required to work in any service area as the need arises, Including St Luke’s General Hospital’s aligned specialist ambulatory care hub as part of the Integrated Care Cardiology Specialist Multidisciplinary Teams.
In line with Sláintecare (2017) and the Department of Health’s Capacity review (2018), a shift in healthcare service provision is now required to place the focus on integrated, person-centred care, based as close to home as possible. In order to enable this, the Integrated Care Programme for the Prevention and Management of Chronic Disease (ICPCD) is supporting the national implementation of a model of integrated care for the prevention and management of chronic disease as part of the Enhanced Community Care Programme (ECC). The Model of Care for the Integrated Prevention and Management of Chronic Disease has a particular focus on preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, early intervention and the provision of supports to live well with chronic disease.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition

(i) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology.
Or
(ii) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin)
Or
(iii) Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS).
Or
(iv) (a) Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology
Or
(iv) (b) An equivalent scientific qualification as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science awarded in or before 2005. (See Note 1*)
And
(v) All candidates must have a minimum of 5 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime) relevant post qualification experience
