The Heart Clinic is a private cardiology investigation and treatment unit, run by Dr. Patrick Owens and Dr Marian O’Donnell. It was established in 2017, and provides diagnostic cardiac services for patients in the South East of Ireland. It provides echocardiography, exercise stress testing, pacing follow-up clinics and monitoring services on a consultative basis from primary and secondary care.

The successful applicant would be providing these diagnostic services, alongside the existing cardiac physiology staff, and would be expected to have independence in the above competencies. All testing is provided under the supervision and with the support of an experienced consultant cardiologist.

Consideration will be given for flexible working, including part-time and full-time options.

The salary for this position is in accordance with the salary scales for a senior grade Cardiac Physiologist, starting at €54,028, with appropriate increments for established seniority; the salary will be pro rata on hours worked. The starting point on the salary scale can be negotiated according to experience.

Candidates must, at the latest date of application:
(i) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology

Or

(ii) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University, Dublin (TUDublin)

Or

(iii) Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8 or above) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiologists (IICMP).

Or

(iv) (a) Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Psychological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology

Or

(iv) (b) Possess an equivalent scientific qualification as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science as awarded in or before 2005.
