Role Title: Senior Respiratory Physiologist

Purpose of the Role
The Respiratory & Sleep Laboratory is committed to providing a professional, flexible and quality assured service, delivering reports of the highest standard. Our objectives are to:
Measure the effect of disease on lung function and Sleep
Initiate PAP Therapy for Sleep Apnoea and other treatments as directed by the Clinician
Follow up patients on Sleep therapy to improve compliance and efficacy
Provide clinicians with reports of the highest quality
To engage in modernisation, quality improvement and innovation and implement change according to best practice and in the best interests of Patients.
To support the integrated care programs and to perform diagnostic procedures situated in the hospital in the first instance with a view to providing clinical sessions in ambulatory care hubs once they are up and running. The two hubs will be located at Cherry Orchard, Dublin 10 and Dublin South City Hub (Meath Street, Dublin 8).
To Support ‘Practice Education’ for the Clinical Measurement Science Hons Degree Program in TUD.
Required:
Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS).
Or
Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Psychological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS).
Or
Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Science (IICMS).
And
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ satisfactory relevant post qualification experience.
And
Candidates must have the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Ability to conduct all technical aspects of Respiratory Physiology testing.
Desirable:
IT skills, Data Base Management.
Relevant research projects.
