| Details of Service: Naas General Hospital is a 243 bedded acute public hospital serving the catchment area of Kildare and West-Wicklow with a population of over a quarter of a million people. Our services are designed to meet the needs of the adult (over 16 years) population in this catchment area. The majority of our hospital activity results from unscheduled inpatient admissions through the Emergency Department (ED). The emergency department is open 24-hours per day 7 days per week all year round. Service users can self-present to ED or referral can be made by General Practitioner (GP) services or within the hospital via the Outpatients Department (OPD). Service users can also access the day ward, the day hospital and the outpatients department via GP referral. 2.0 Our Aim Our aim is to provide a high-quality patient-centred service, which is safe, cost effective and flexible.
Naas General Hospital is a major teaching hospital providing a range of acute medical and surgical services, day care, outpatient, diagnostic and support services. Emergency services are provided on a 365-day, 24 hour basis. Multi-disciplinary teams representative of medical, nursing, allied health professionals, management and general support staff play a pivotal role in the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of these services.
· Busy Respiratory & Sleep Diagnostic Service · Service provision for both inpatients and outpatients at Naas General Hospital offering a diverse range of diagnostics tests to all Hospital Consultant Specialties and Consultants from some external public general hospitals · Currently providing services for Respiratory and Sleep patients referred by our three Respiratory Consultants · Service provision is also provided for Respiratory patients by direct access from GPs within the area.
